Police have now charged two additional people over a deadly crash involving a vehicle allegedly travelling the wrong way on a major highway claiming the life of a young man.
Emergency services were called to the northbound lanes on the Bruce Highway near the Deception Bay exit, north of Brisbane, on February 17, after a white Isuzu truck collided head-on with a white Honda Accord.
The driver of the Honda, 26-year-old Andre Roberts from Caboolture, died at the scene.
A 46-year-old Redcliffe man, who police allege was driving the truck, also sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police will allege the Isuzu had been stolen from a Hemmant business and it was being followed by a Ford Ranger, allegedly driven by 42-year-old Steven Wayne Papworth, in the moments leading up to the crash.
Police have released body camera footage of the moment Papworth was arrested at a Narangba scrap metal business. It’s alleged he was pursuing 46-year-old Russell James Hughes after a suspected scrap metal theft.
Both were driving the wrong way in the northbound lanes on the highway when Hughes crashed head-on into Roberts.

Investigators allege a group of business owners had earlier noticed the truck moving slowly through an industrial area and began following it, believing it may have been linked to suspicious activity.
The collision, which occurred late at night on one of Queensland’s busiest highways, shocked witnesses and was captured on video by passing motorists.
Roberts had been driving home from work when his Honda was struck. The force of the impact caused the car to burst into flames, killing him instantly.
Friends and family later described the 26-year-old as “incredible, and with a contagious laugh and smile”.

“Please let police do their job,” Detective Inspector David Harbison said.
“Don’t get involved — things can happen and escalate very quickly that open yourself up to legal recourse and possibly injury to yourself or others.”
Following weeks of investigation, police have now charged two more men over the crash.
Papworth has been charged with one count of manslaughter and one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.
The 46-year-old Redcliffe man, Hughes, has been also charged with one count of manslaughter, as well as four counts of enter premises and commit, three counts of stealing, two counts of receiving tainted property and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Papworth has been released on bail to face Caboolture Magistrates Court next month.
Hughes remains in hospital and will face court in May.
