At least nine of the 10 dingoes involved in the fatal attack on a Canadian backpacker on K’gari Island have been euthanised by the Queensland government.

The traditional owners of K’gari are considering legal action, claiming they were not consulted about the major cull.

The state government has refused to explain the decision and announced increased range patrols in the coming weeks.

Additionally, plans are underway to construct bridges on the island.
