Lauren Alaina shared some exciting news with fans on June 11: She and her husband, Cam Arnold, welcomed their first child, a daughter, Beni Doll Arnold. The couple is embracing their new roles as parents and has been open with fans about the experience. However, the “Those Kind of Women” singer also made an incredibly relatable post this week, which has inspired fans to share their own post-birth stories.
Lauren Alaina Shares Her First Post-Birth Meal
Alaina has made it clear that she loves motherhood, and she announced the birth of her daughter in a heartfelt joint statement with her husband. “The right words are hard to find to describe how parts of my heart that I didn’t even know existed were unlocked at 8:44 am when they laid you on my belly for the first time. I will never be the same,” she wrote alongside a photo of her and Arnold holding Beni.
After giving birth to Beni, Alaina allowed herself a little treat. She got to indulge in a craving she had given up during pregnancy: sushi! The “Dancing With the Stars” alum, who competed on Season 28 alongside professional dancer Gleb Savchenko, posted a video on Instagram on June 17 of herself looking extremely happy as she tucked into multiple takeaway boxes of sushi.
The text overlay on the video reads: “I almost forgot that sushi in the hospital after giving birth is the whole point.” It appears to be her first meal, and you can hear her say, “I’m so happy,” as she claps in excitement. Alaina shared more about the moment in the caption, writing, “Let’s just say your husband getting you sushi from your favorite place after giving birth is ’Heaven Sent.’”
Fans Praise Lauren Alaina for Sharing Her Excitement About Eating Sushi
Fans have reacted to the video, and many people agree that there’s something extra special about the first meal after giving birth. “My first meal every time,” a comment reads. “He is SO good to you Lauren! You are such a lucky gal for that & so many other reasons!” another fan wrote.
Other reactions include, “I did the same!!! Yessss,” “Sushi after birth is THE ABSOLUTE BEST,” and “The happy clap.”
But why did she have to wait so long before enjoying sushi again? It is advised to avoid raw or undercooked seafood during pregnancy. “All seafood dishes should be cooked to 145°F (63°C). Raw seafood may contain parasites or bacteria, including Listeria, that can make pregnant women ill and could potentially harm their babies,” FoodSafety.gov reports.
That meant that after some very long months, the “American Idol” alum was finally able to enjoy sushi again!
