Two and a half years after the death of beloved entertainer Paul O’Grady, his final resting place has been revealed — complete with a touching and beautifully crafted headstone that reflects the humour, warmth, and humanity that defined his life.

Paul’s husband, Andre Portasio, shared the first images of the headstone this week, moving fans across the nation to tears.

💔 A Final Tribute, Two Years in the Making

Set in the quiet countryside of Aldington, Kent, near the couple’s home, the dark grey granite stone is simple yet deeply symbolic.
It bears Paul’s name alongside that of his late partner, Brendan Murphy, who died in 2005 — a poignant decision that reflects O’Grady’s lifelong devotion and loyalty to those he loved.

At the base of the stone sits a small statue of Buster, Paul’s famous Shih Tzu–Bichon cross who often appeared with him on The Paul O’Grady Show and became a fan favourite.

Beneath their names is one of Paul’s favourite quotes, chosen by Andre:

“The greatest thing in the world is to know how to be one’s own self.” — Montaigne

Andre explained that the design had taken months of thought and approvals, sayin

“I wanted it to be something that truly represented Paul — his humour, his heart, and his love for those closest to him. I think he would’ve loved it.”
