Jesse Watters is facing criticism on social media after opining on Jennifer Aniston’s looks on Fox News’ The Five.
During a segment about former Democratic congresswoman Katie Porter, Waters’s co-host Greg Gutfeld argued that “people didn’t get attractive until the internet.”
LIVE ON AIR DRAMA: Fox’s Jesse Watters SHUT DOWN by Co-Host After Saying Jennifer Aniston “Used to Be Much Better Looking” — “You Can’t Say That!”
What started as a light-hearted segment on Fox News’ “The Five” quickly spiraled into one of the show’s most awkward on-air moments. During a discussion about Hollywood beauty standards, Jesse Watters sparked outrage among both his co-hosts and viewers when he remarked that Jennifer Aniston “used to be much better looking.”
The comment — which came out of nowhere — immediately drew gasps from around the table. Before Watters could continue, co-host Jessica Tarlov jumped in sharply, cutting him off with an incredulous, “Excuse me? You can’t say that about Jennifer Aniston!”
“That’s Not Okay, Jesse”
Watters, seemingly caught off guard by the reaction, tried to defend himself, insisting that he meant no disrespect. “I’m just saying,” he stammered, “she looked different back in the Friends days — we all age, that’s life.”
But the rest of the panel wasn’t having it. Dana Perino shook her head, visibly uncomfortable, while Greg Gutfeld nervously tried to diffuse the tension with a joke that fell flat.
Tarlov, however, wasn’t letting it go.
“Jennifer Aniston is 56, stunning, and aging gracefully — unlike most people who criticize her on national TV,” she snapped.
The exchange left the studio audience murmuring as the hosts awkwardly moved on to the next topic.
Social Media EXPLODES
Within minutes of the segment airing, clips of Watters’ remark went viral. Fans of Jennifer Aniston flooded social media with outrage, calling the Fox host “rude,” “sexist,” and “completely tone-deaf.”
One viewer wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
“Imagine thinking you can insult Jennifer Aniston — an icon, humanitarian, and ageless goddess — on live TV and get away with it.”
Another user added:
“Women age, men age. The difference is women get judged for it. Thank you, Jessica Tarlov, for shutting him down.”
By the evening, the phrase “Leave Jennifer Alone” was trending nationwide.
Aniston Fans Rally Behind the Star
Jennifer Aniston, who recently graced the cover of Allure and spoke openly about self-acceptance and body image, has long been praised for embracing natural beauty and authenticity. Her fans — fiercely loyal since her Friends days — saw Watters’ comment as emblematic of Hollywood’s double standards.
“Jennifer is literally glowing these days — inside and out,” one fan wrote. “Meanwhile, Jesse Watters is picking fights with someone who’s aged like fine wine.”
A Familiar Pattern
This isn’t the first time Jesse Watters has stirred controversy on air. Known for his provocative takes, the Fox host has often drawn criticism for remarks perceived as dismissive or inappropriate. But this time, even his own colleagues seemed unwilling to defend him.
A Fox insider reportedly told Page Six:
“The energy on set dropped instantly. Everyone knew that line crossed into uncomfortable territory. Tarlov was right to stop him.”
No Apology — Yet
As of Thursday morning, Watters has not issued an apology or addressed the backlash. Fox News has also remained silent on the incident. Meanwhile, clips of Tarlov’s firm response continue to circulate, earning her praise as a “queen for defending women everywhere.”
“Jesse made himself the villain,” one media analyst commented. “Jennifer Aniston didn’t need to respond — her legacy already speaks louder than anything he could say.”
In a world obsessed with youth and appearance, one thing became crystal clear: Jennifer Aniston doesn’t need defending — but when someone tries to drag her down, there’s always a woman on the panel ready to remind everyone that class, grace, and self-respect never go out of style.
