Kenny Chesney Faces Technical Issues During Las Vegas Sphere Show
Kenny Chesney is currently in the middle of his Las Vegas residency, performing a 12-show run as the first country artist to headline at the Las Vegas Sphere.
If you know about The Sphere, you know it’s not like a regular concert venue. It opened in 2023 and cost $2.3 billion to build. The venue was designed to create a fully immersive environment for both fans and the artists.
It features about 1.2 million LED lights on its exterior and a 16k wraparound interior screen that displays cutting-edge visuals during live shows. Needless to say, it’s quite an honor to be able to perform there.
That’s why Chesney has been keeping fans on their toes with some fun surprises during his time there so far.
For example, on the opening night of the residency, he brought out Kelsea Ballerini to sing with him, which caught the crowd completely off guard in the best way.
But at a recent show, fans got a different kind of surprise…and even Chesney didn’t see it coming.
Things took a turn when he ran into major technical problems right in the middle of his set.
In a fan-recorded video from the show, Chesney is seen on stage with no sounds or visuals working. But he was determined not to let the technical issues ruin the energy of the night.
Laughing through the moment, Chesney jokingly spoke into his now-useless mic and tried to quiet the massive crowd in hopes they could still hear him.
Realizing that was nearly impossible, he rolled with it and called on the audience to help him out.
That’s when he decided to lead the crowd in an impromptu sing-along of his 2005 hit “Living in Fast Forward.”
What started as an unexpected setback ended up becoming a fun and unforgettable moment.
Fans Zlooded the comments with how well Chesney handled the issue.
“I was there. He handled it perfectly. Great concert,” one person wrote.
“Kenny did an amazing job! He kept smiling and working through the issue. He kept the crowd engaged and bounced back like a true musician. Many artists would’ve lost their cool! Not Kenny! Way to go!” someone else praised.
“He created a core memory,” another said.
