BOB’s Burgers’ Eugene Mirman has been hospitalized after being dragged from a burning car following a horrifying accident.

The comedian, who voices Gene Belcher in the long-running animated series, was involved in the terrifying crash on Tuesday.

According to TMZ, which was first to report the TV star’s involvement, the crash took place in Bedford, New Hampshire.

After being trapped behind the wheel of his 2026 Lucid Gravity, Eugene, 51, was reportedly pulled to safety by a State Trooper, New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte, and other witnesses.

The vehicle is said to have gone up in flames after striking the Bedford Toll Plaza.

Eugene suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

Police are currently investigating the accident, and no charges have been filed at this time.

WCVB previously reported on the crash, though at the time it was unknown that the voice actor was the driver.

The outlet noted that the roadway had been the site of numerous crashes in recent years.

Eugene has voiced Gene Belcher on Bob’s Burgers since the show’s premiere in 2011.

He also reprised the role in numerous animated shorts and in a 2018 episode of The Simpsons.

The comic again lent his voice to the character in 2022 for The Bob’s Burgers Movie.

The last new episode of the adult animated series aired in December 2025, from Season 16.

It’s currently on a mid-season hiatus and is set to return with new episodes on April 26.

Other voice actors on the show include H. Jon Benjamin as Jimmy Pesto Jr., Kristen Schaal as Louise Belcher, Dan Mintz as Tina Belcher, Larry Murphy as Teddy, and John Roberts as Linda Belcher.

The show has been nominated 12 times for several Primetime Emmy Awards throughout its over a decade-long run.

Bob’s Burgers won an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program in 2014 and again in 2017.
