Ripple viewers are wondering if the series will be renewed for a second season after the cliffhanger ending

Ripple has landed on Netflix and the heartwarming series has become a massive success with viewers, who are eager to discover more about the exceptional cast. The eight-episode drama explores how one individual’s decisions can create a ripple effect throughout the lives of others around them.
The programme focuses on four central characters – Aria (portrayed by Sydney Agudong), Nate (Ian Harding), Kris (Julia Chan) and Walter (Frankie Faison) – who begin as complete strangers.
Nevertheless, their paths become entangled as the series demonstrates themes of hope and grief in equal measure. With the series ending on a cliffhanger, numerous questions remain unanswered about the main quartet, leaving audiences wondering whether additional episodes are in the pipeline. The programme was initially developed by Lionsgate and debuted on Netflix on December 3.
Currently, the series, which ranks amongst the standout programmes in Netflix’s Top 10, hasn’t been officially commissioned for a second series, though this doesn’t rule out future confirmation arriving shortly. Viewers flocked to X, previously known as Twitter, to express their desire for another series, with Kate posting: “I need a #Ripple season 2 because that was beautiful television. It gave #ThisIsUs vibes in the way it was so authentic.”

Sarah commented: “I binged all eight episodes of #Ripple tonight. It was good. I don’t know why, but I thought it would be an anthology and that the whole show would be wrapped up by the end, but it wasn’t, and now who knows how long I’ll have to wait for season 2. There better be a S.2 or else.
Nina shared similar feelings, writing: “I don’t know who told Netflix to release Ripple but I have been crying three days straight watching it. Episode 7 broke my heart completely.”
All four central characters could make a comeback should the programme get recommissioned, providing ample opportunity for writers to explore their relationships further. Audiences were left questioning whether Nate survived his cancer battle and if he proceeded with the clinical trial.
Meanwhile, Aria is gearing up for a musical tour, with Walter and Nate joining forces to keep her aspirations alive by managing the Lumi bar. In an emotional note, Nate told Kris that their adventure was “only just beginning”.

Kris (Julia Chan)
Supporters flocked to Reddit to debate the programme’s chances of getting a second series, with luna1uvgood revealing: “Technically it was originally produced for Hallmark+ but ended up getting picked up by Netflix for some reason. It stars a couple of Hallmark actors as a result (Ian Harding, Marci T. House, Robert Bazzocchi, Vanessa Smythe).
“I thought it was well written and they did a great job at showing how all the people met and were interconnected. I was expecting it to be a one-season show, so was surprised that it was left quite open ended and setting up a potential season two.
“I hope it’ll get renewed, but given it wasn’t originally produced by them and they’re notorious for cancelling shows quickly, I don’t have much faith.”
Currently sitting at number five in Netflix UK’s top 10 TV shows chart, Ripple has been steadily climbing since its debut.
Boasting an impressive IMDb score of 7.5/10, viewers have been celebrating the series as the perfect feel-good escape. Demarlet gushed: “Ripple matches the quality of This is Us! I loved how these characters lives are all intertwined, though it was easy to follow and had a great flow.
“Not a single plot-hole. This one’s easy to binge-watch. I was disappointed that there weren’t more episodes. Please bring this show on for multiple seasons!” Kmzacharias pleaded for continuation, declaring: “New Fave…Make Season Two Happen NOW. Ripple is a series about hope and developing a found family among would-be strangers.
“I relate to this quite personally and if there’s ever been a time to promote hope and community, it’s now. Aria’s music is a total bonus – release her album please! I binge watched it in one sitting (!), I’m totally hooked. Please make a Season 2.”
Rludricks-54444 praised the series as “fantastic”, enthusing: “This is exactly the type of series I needed in my life. I am hooked! I binged all 8 episodes and couldn’t wait to see what happens next. They intertwine in such clever ways and it makes me think about the ripples in life that have affected me personally. Netflix – we need a season two PLEASE! Love these characters!”
