South Australia based socialite and account manager Bec Zacharia has endured an explosive time during her Married At First Sight stint with groom Danny Hewitt – and now believes the experiences in her rough childhood could be linked.

His head was then turned by a rival bride in the aftermath of their disastrous honeymoon, with Bec also taking aim at a handful of brides during a very awkward dinner party.

Scenes saw her intervene in other brides’ relationships and she has suggested her attitude was “connected to her past”.

In a chat with Woman’s Day she opened up on her past experiences and said: “I was told I was ugly and that I’d never find a man who’d love me.

“When something happens to you that young, it changes how you see yourself.

“I’ve spent most of my adult life trying to prove I’m good enough.

“When you’ve experienced abuse, small situations can feel amplified.

“It’s not always about what’s happening in front of you”.

Talking about attitudes to her female co-stars in particular she added: “I’ve had to ask whether that’s connected to my past.

“The honest answer is, probably.

“I have trouble trusting women as my abuser was a woman”.

Viewers have been Bec endure a tough time on her MAFS journey with Danny.

Upon getting married, the new couple individually told the cameras they were struggling to forge a connection with one another.

Bec was then seen challenging her man during their honeymoon in Fiji after suggesting he was “staring at another woman all day”.

In a scene which saw them having dinner at an outdoor restaurant, she told him: “Do you want to double take on the girl you’ve been staring at all day?”

He looked around bewildered as he asked: “What one? Are you joking? I don’t even know what to say to that.”

Danny continued: “When did I supposedly look at her?”

She explained: “The girl that just ran past has been in your eyeline all day, you watched her run past our villa this morning, you watched her at breakfast, triple take then.”

Protesting his innocence, he expressed: “Bec, I’m not looking at other women, that’s just as simple as that.

“If I look at that palm tree four times, does that mean I’m looking at that palm tree, do you know what I mean?

“I don’t even know the girl you’re talking about, so that’s crazy. You’re making me scared to look anywhere.”

The brunette then stormed off and said she was “over it”.

The couple were already on the rocks before she decided to call him out on his wandering eye.

The telly star broke down in tears in their room after a tough conversation, where they both agreed there wasn’t any sexual chemistry.
