Claudia Winkleman addresses decision that ‘almost makes husband burst into tears’
Claudia Winkleman, who hosts Celebrity Traitors, says she wants to help husband Kris Thykier with the problem but concedes that she ‘can’t’

Claudia Winkleman says one thing she does almost makes her husband cry
Claudia Winkleman almost makes husband Kris Thykier “burst into tears” when she does one thing. Claudia has been married to film producer Kris since 2000, sharing three children together.
But The Traitors host says her husband can often find himself annoyed with her nighttime routine. Claudia, 53, says she enjoys a bath in the evenings, even describing in depth her ideal relaxing scenario. But it’s afterwards that she says she likes to wrap herself in towels, admitting that she knows she “won’t hang them up” once used. She made the revelation while discussing how she enjoys spending the evening on the SheerLuxe podcast.
In 2023, Claudia explained: “I like a bath, and I’m not just saying it again, I like a bath melt. We’ve created a new bath melt.
“I like to go in there. I like a book, I like hair up, I like a clip, then I like to wrap myself like a yeti in 17 towels that I’m never going to hang up.
“I’ve been married for 23 years, it makes him almost burst into tears but I can’t help it. I want to help him but somehow I can’t.
“They’re like little atolls all around the room. Just small, damp threadbare areas that he has to tiptoe around, what are you going to do.”
Claudia, who also hosts shows such as The Piano and Strictly Come Dancing, has previously warned husband Kris she would “sleep with his brother” if he does one thing she can’t stand. She says the unusual turn-off is the “most unattractive thing ever”.

Speaking to comedian Paul Merton on Room 101, Claudia said: “I don’t think I could have sex with somebody who had a very strict system when it came to loading the dishwasher. I’m just, it goes in, it comes out, everyone please relax.”
Continuing her lighthearted rant, she added, “So yeah, I’d find that quite tiresome. My husband is much cleaner than I am, he once said ‘babe, you know where we keep the mustard’, and I was like, I’m happy to call [counselling charity] Relate, don’t touch me.
“I think this might be one of the most unattractive things ever.”
The comedian quizzed Claudia on how far her disdain for organisation goes, pointing out there’s often a spot in the kitchen for plates, or small plates. Claudia joked: “I’m not wild.
“I’m not playing Frisbee, I’ll put them in. But if one goes skew-whiff, and he came up and went, ‘well that’s never going to work’ then I’m going to sleep with your brother.”
Claudia will return to screens with the gripping finale of Celebrity Traitors from 9pm on BBC One tonight. Viewers will watch as Traitors Alan Carr and Cat Burn battle it out with Faithfuls Nick Mohammed, Joe Marler and David Olusoga.
Immediately after the show she will be appearing on T
