The Duke of Sussex has a special wish for next year’s Invictus Games and according to a source, it’s “two-fold”.
The duke was waiting for a review by the Risk Management Board (RMB), part of the process by which the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) rules on his security requirements, but learned last month, ahead of his visit to the UK, that it had yet to take place
As of the time of writing, no decision on Harry’s security has been made.
Father and son last spent time together in public for the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022 and her Platinum Jubilee celebration the summer of that year.
In September, it is understood that Harry will accept his father’s offer to stay at Buckingham Palace during his visit to the UK for the annual WellChild Awards in London.

“He would love the King’s support at the Games, while having his father by his side would also add considerable weight to his argument for security for his family to accompany him on the trip.”
The duke has faced a long legal battle with the Home Office over the security arrangements for him and his family when in the UK after his level of protection changed when he stepped down as a working royal in 2020.
When the duke lost a Court of Appeal challenge against the Home Office last year, he gave a BBC interview in which he expressed hopes for reconciliation with his family, revealing that Charles would not speak to him because of his security court case.

Prince Harry reportedly wants to extend a huge olive branch to his father, the King, for next year, and a royal insider has hinted at his motives behind the move. The Duke of Sussex reportedly wants to invite Charles to take part in “either the opening or closing ceremony” of the Invictus Games in Birmingham next year.
According to reports, the invitation could extend to His Majesty potentially visiting “a range of sporting events to meet competitors”. But according to sources, Prince Harry’s wish has a dual purpose. A source told the Mirror: “Harry’s intention is two-fold.
