Feathers have been reportedly ruffled inside the Royal Family after the Duke of Sussex announced a trip to Canada while his older brother was in Brazil.

Tensions are reportedly mounting between Prince Harry and Buckingham Palace after the Duke of Sussex announced he would be travelling to Canada while Prince William was on a five-day trip to Brazil for COP30. Although Harry’s office insisted the Palace had been informed “as a courtesy”, sources have now claimed that this was not the case.
Both Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace reportedly never received this call or email. A source told The Times that nobody in London appeared to know about Harry’s trip to Canada until it was released to the press. They consider his allegedly false claim that the Palace had been informed as “a bit rum” and feathers have been ruffled internally.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the royal row began when Harry revealed he was going to Toronto to mark “Remembrancetide”. However, his announcement came shortly after the Prince of Wales had landed in Brazil for a visit to promote his Earthshot Prize.
Following inquiries from media publications, the Duke of Sussex’s team has not confirmed when they informed the Palace about his trip to Canada. Nor have they confirmed who was told about the Remembrance visit in a Commonwealth nation.
During his trip, Harry met soldiers from the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, troops from the Royal Regiment of Canada, and veterans at Sunnybrook Hospital. However, on the morning of Remembrance Sunday, images of Harry at a party the night before emerged.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had attended Kris Jenner’s James Bond–themed 70th birthday party in Los Angeles, hosted by Jeff Bezos. They were pictured speaking to the Kardashian family before the images were removed from social media.

Harry and Meghan were also forced to apologise after being pictured wearing LA Dodgers caps at the baseball World Series instead of supporting the local Toronto Blue Jays. Harry said he was “truly sorry” and had “no excuses”.
Meanwhile, Prince William attended the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Rio de Janeiro. He gave a speech at the COP30 climate conference and visited the island of Paquetá to learn about its ecology.
The Prince of Wales also met indigenous leaders and participated in local activities such as beach football. In a recent Apple TV TV interview with Eugene Levy, the royal focused on Earthshot and praised the “the brilliant people in this room”.
He called them “action heroes”.
He said: “Change will come from backing them not by what I do.”
He added: “I want to surround myself with people who want to make change and do good in the world”.
