The bodies believed to be two missing fishermen have been found on the NSW South Coast marking a long weekend tragedy.
An investigation was sparked after a body washed up at Gerroa on the state’s South Coast on Sunday afternoon with police working to identify the man.
The probe led police to reports of two men missing from the Blakehurst and Hurstville areas, in Sydney’s south.

Officers were told the two men – aged 59 and 53 – who are known to each other, frequented the Kiama, Gerringong and Jervis Bay area for rock fishing.
In light of the new information, police believe the body found on Sunday afternoon belongs to the missing 53-year-old man.
Police Rescue, State Emergency Service members, Marine Rescue NSW, Surf Life Saving NSW and the Westpac rescue helicopter all assisted with a search on Monday.
The search was suspended at 9pm on Monday and resumed at 6am on Tuesday.
A body was found near Black Head Reserve on Tuesday afternoon with police alleging it is the missing 59-year-old man.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
