The NSW Police have issued a new arrest warrant for Michael Angok, who was released from custody in Bankstown on Wednesday.

He was being transported from Villawood Immigration Detention Centre to Bankstown Hospital when he escaped custody.

A range of police units, including the Dog Squad, Raptor, and PolAir, were deployed to locate and contain Mr Angok.

Detective Superintendent Brett Van Akker spoke about the incident, stating that efforts to locate him will be ongoing and their resources will “stretch for days”.
