Singer Pink farewelled 2025 in an unusual way, spending the New Year alone in a hospital bed.
The pop star revealed on Wednesday she had undergone surgery, which involved adding “two shiny new discs in my neck”.
“A new scar, a new reminder, that I appreciate this vessel that I have and use it for all it’s worth,” Pink wrote on Instagram.
“Rock ‘n’ roll is a contact sport.
“And as I sit here by myself on New Year’s Eve in a hospital room while my family is happily snowboarding.
“I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the choice that I have made.”

Singers often get artificial discs put in their neck to relieve pain and preserve the motion of their spine, which is can help their performance and career.
The surgery addresses issues like herniated or degenerative discs that press on nerves or the spinal cord, causing pain, numbness or weakness
Pink began her post by wishing fans a happy new year, before confirming she was leaving all of her “hurt” behind in 2025.
While she admitted it had been a tough year of ups and downs, she added “there was so much beauty”.
The singer — who has two children, Willow, 14, and Jameson Moon, 7, with her husband Carey Hart — said being able to love her kids and help them follow their dreams was the greatest gift.
“Loving and laughing, cooking and dancing, crying and screaming, forgiving and apologising, and all the rest of our beautiful messiness,” she wrote.
In September, Willow wowed audiences when she joined her mum on stage at Radio City Music Hall in New York as part of Hugh Jackman’s From New York, With Love concert series.
The mother-daughter duo were special guests and teamed up with Jackman for a stunning rendition of A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman.

Pink appeared visibly emotional, placing her hand over her heart as she watched her daughter sing. The trio also performed Pink’s fan-favourite hit Who Knew from her 2006 album I’m Not Dead.
In her latest post, Pink revealed she also farewelled some important people in her life this year, while welcoming new ones.
Most importantly, she ended 2025 by listening to and fixing her body: “It may not be a fancy facelift but I am getting two new shiny discs in my body.”
“Let’s not be afraid to take care of ourselves and others,” Pink added.
“I choose joy and I leave behind the hurt.
“I’m going to choose positive thoughts over negative ones.
“And I’m going to rage against the dying of the light.”
