WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT – CCTV footage of horrific dog attack in Perth.
Two dogs responsible for a horrifying attack that left a woman in hospital requiring surgery and her pet dead have been euthanised.
City of Stirling mayor Mark Irwin confirmed the two dogs involved in the incident in Dianella on Saturday were euthanised on Friday morning.
“The owner of the dogs surrendered them to the City on Wednesday and they were euthanised this morning,” he said.

“The City will be proceeding with a prosecution in relation to this incident under the Dog Act 1976.
“Sadly, this incident has ended in the death of three dogs and will have lasting impacts on their owners, including the woman who was injured trying to save her pet’s life.”

Mr Irwin said it was a tragic reminder about the importance of responsible dog ownership and keeping effective control of pet dogs.
The terrifying incident, which occurred on Sycamore Rise at about 6.40am on April 11, was caught on CCTV.
In the footage the woman can be seen carrying her small dog while walking up a hill, when the two aggressive dogs approach and begin attacking.
One dog nipped at her while trying to grab her pet. The second dog then joins in, with both animals lunging and snarling.

For 40 seconds, the woman fights desperately to protect her dog, struggling to keep it in her arms before she collapses on a driveway.
The attacking dogs manage to pull the smaller dog away and begin mauling it near the road.
A neighbour then arrives with two sticks about 90 seconds after the start of the attack and attempts to drive the dogs away.

Anyone who notices a dog roaming the streets should call the City’s Community Safety team on 1300 365 356.
