It started to go wrong at Bec’s homestay

It’s no secret that the majority of couples who meet on Married At First Sight don’t go the distance. It’s almost as if marrying a complete stranger is not a great idea.

However, some lucky brides and grooms do manage to find a lasting connection with the person they’re matched with on the show. And if they can survive partner swapping, intimacy challenges, expert analysis and countless explosive dinner parties, then they stand a good chance of making it in the real world too.

Now that MAFS Australia is airing in the UK and drawing to a close in Australia, viewers are wondering which couples from this season have decided to stay together. Are Stella and Filip still married? What about Rachel and Steven? Or Bec and Danny? Read on to find out.

Are Bec and Danny still together?

Despite tensions running high on their wedding day and plenty of awkward moments on their honeymoon, Bec and Danny have not given up on the experiment yet.

It’s not yet known if Bec and Danny are together on the outside as the cast members are contractually obliged to keep that a secret, but they are still going strong on the show.

Bec, for her part, has told Danny that she loves him, while Danny confessed his ‘really strong feelings’ for her too.

However, homestay week proved challenging for the couple. After Danny won over Bec’s family in Adelaide, he ruined it by making a joke about Bec’s cousin Danielle, which did not go down well. However, Danny later told her, ‘One thing I’ve never told you in the past, because I have no family out here, when I’m with a partner, I take their family on as my own.’

As for his joke about Danielle, he said, ‘I think obviously because Danielle fancied me, she didn’t want to [say anything].’ Sensing Bec’s annoyance at his comment he then said, ‘That’s gone down like a lead balloon.’ At the end of the episode Bec said, ‘I’m done!’ and Danny said, ‘I don’t want to be with her right now.’

Will they make it all the way to the vow ceremony? We’ll have to wait to see.
