Meghan Markle revealed a fun and unexpected secret behind her Paris Fashion Week prep: a 100-day streak on Duolingo.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, shared an Instagram reel on Oct. 5 recapping her weekend in Paris for a series of Balenciaga shows, offering fans a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of her routine — and her commitment to brushing up on French.

The video opened with a breakfast spread and a graphic celebrating her milestone streak on the popular language-learning app. Meghan previously shared that she uses Duolingo to keep up her French skills, explaining to Variety in 2022, “Once we’ve gotten the kids to bed, and I’ve played a little Wordle or done my ten minutes of Duolingo, I really wanted to relearn French, I studied it for the four years of high school and then…  and then it just went away.”

A spokesperson told PEOPLE she attended the Oct. 4 event to support Pierpaolo Piccioli, the label’s newly appointed Creative Director.

The video offered a peek at her whirlwind trip: a view from the plane window, feet up in a car, the Arc de Triomphe, a bouquet with a Balenciaga card and a stunning Eiffel Tower view from a balcony.

“About last night. Thank you @pppiccioli and @balenciaga,” the Duchess of Sussex captioned the clip. “I’ve missed you 🇫🇷 – thanks for the love ❤️”

The video then cut to Meghan getting her hair and makeup done, with Daniel Martin — her longtime friend and the makeup artist behind her 2018 bridal look — on hand. Now Global Director of Artistry for Tatcha, Martin has also appeared in seasons 1 and 2 of Meghan’s Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan.

Close-ups in the reel included a handwritten note reading “Knock ‘em dead” and “Have the best time xxx,” the glam setup in a luxe suite, French fries beside a blow dryer, a collection of Tom Ford lipsticks on a vanity and Meghan walking through the lobby en route to the Balenciaga show.

The camera panned to Meghan giving Piccioli a big hug, and the Duchess of Sussex posing before a Balenciaga backdrop.

“Over the years, the Duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo. They have worked closely together, collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage,” Meghan’s spokesperson said.

“She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different. This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga,” they added.

While the Duchess of Sussex’s weekend in France marked her debut at Paris Fashion Week in the city, she’s a pro at the front row.

The former Suits star attended several shows at New York and Toronto Fashion Weeks between 2013 and 2015, before her relationship with Prince Harry began.
