Virgin River’s Alexandra Breckenridge shares huge season 7 update
Virgin River season seven might be arriving much sooner than you think as Alexandra Breckenridge has shared a tantalizing update.
The Mel Monroe actress is currently filming the latest season with her co-star Martin Henderson returning as Jack Sheridan to pick up the pieces after a jaw-dropping cliffhanger ending to season six.
Jack’s ex Charmaine (played by Lauren Hammersley) is currently missing after failing to show up to their wedding, while Mel faces a tough decision about her patient Marley’s (Rachel Drance) baby.
Season seven is currently filming in Vancouver, with no official release date, though it’s expected to release by early 2026.
However, Breckenridge’s latest update confirms she’ll be finished filming shortly, so lucky fans may be able to tune into new episodes of Virgin River by the end of 2025.
Alexandra Breckenridge took to Instagram with an exciting update for fans.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, she thanked the followers who sent messages to wish her a happy 43rd birthday this past Thursday (May 15).
The actress also revealed she’ll be starting to post more content on her own YouTube channel soon, explaining why she hasn’t shared a video for a while.
“Because I’ve been so busy filming Virgin River season seven,” she began.
“I haven’t been able to do all of my cooking videos as much as I wanted to, or keep up with the garden or anything.
“But I did start a YouTube channel, which has little to no content on it.”
Thankfully, Breckenridge promised she’ll be sharing more videos once she has a little more free time in between seasons.
Could Mel and Jack be back on our screens by the end of the year?
This could be on the cards in the next few weeks, as she then revealed Virgin River’s upcoming installment won’t take much longer to film.

“Once I’m done this season, which will be soon,” she continued, before noticing her hair in the camera.
“My hair is really dirty, it’s gross. It’s quite humid out here in Georgia, so I’m a little bit sweaty and yucky.”
Getting back on track, Breckenridge went on: “But, once I’m done, I’m gonna start keeping up with all things gardens, cooking and chickens.”
Given Breckenridge is currently back home in Georgia, the cast could be taking a short break before returning to Vancouver for the finishing touches on Virgin River season seven.
Could this mean a late 2025 premiere could be possible for this hit Netflix romance? Stay tuned.
Virgin River is available to stream on Netflix.
