SCOTT Mills and Alfie Watts have been announced as new hosts for a Race Across The World spin off podcast.

The duo will front The Detour, which will chart the ups and downs of the upcoming series.

Each week the podcast will welcome guests from celebrity fans to content creators and comedians as they speak about the show in great detail.

Alfie, 22, shared the news on his Instagram stories as he said: “I will be joining the incredible @scottmills on a brand NEW visualised podcast of Race Across The World!!!

“It’ll be out every single week after the show is aired and I’ll be the resident guest every week talking all things travel!”

Both Alfie and Scott, 52, are no strangers to the show, having won their respective series.

Alfie starred on the fourth civilian series in 2024 with his best friend Owen Wood.

The contestants were required to complete the 15,000 kilometres route from Japan to Indonesia.

They managed to make it all the way and proved triumphant for the fourth instalment, making them the youngest winners ever.

Meanwhile, Scott took part in the second celebrity series the same year with his husband Sam Vaughan.

The couple successfully won the race over 12,500 kilometres across South America, starting in Belém, Brazil and finishing in Frutillar, Chile.

Although the BBC are yet to reveal an air date for the next civilian series, as per previous schedules, it’s expected to air in April.

The recent Celebrity Race Across the World series, from Mexico to Colombia, was won by broadcaster Roman Kemp and his sister Harley Moon.

The Sun exclusively revealed last month that Katie Price and Peter Andre’s children Junior and Princess had signed up for the next instalment.

The pair flew out to the currently undisclosed location to film the new series, which is expected to air on BBC One in September.

The nepo kids have seen their star rise as of late with Junior’s blossoming music career and Princess’ successful ITV2 series, The Princess Diaries.

A source said: “Princess and Junior have proven themselves to be well-mannered, hardworking kids and opportunities continue to come their way.

“Execs were impressed with the ratings for The Princess Diaries but also how they came across.

“They’re brilliant signings for Celeb Race as they bring with them a younger audience.

“But bosses are also looking forward to seeing how they cope with the stripped-back style of travelling as they’re more at home in five- star hotels than a hostel.”

The competition programme first aired back in 2019 on BBC Two before moving over to BBC One in 2023.

The celebrity version hit screens for the first time in 2023, with both shows being a hit with viewers.

The success of the show has spawned several international instalments in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Spain.
