Diane Keaton’s final Instagram post before her death featured a heartwarming and candid moment at home with her dog.

The actress died at age 79 in California on Saturday, Oct. 11. Her last post on the social media app was shared on April 11, in honor of National Pet Day.

As part of a collaboration with Hudson Grace, a home and lifestyle brand, Keaton shared a photo of herself with her beloved Golden Retriever, Reggie.

“Proof our pets have great taste too! Happy National Pet Day from HG & @diane_keaton 🖤🐾” the caption of the post read.

Keaton, an avid dog lover, revealed she welcomed Reggie into her life in 2020, through an Instagram post that featured footage of the canine running and jumping in a backyard area.

The Oscar-winner often shared fun, candid moments from both her personal and creative life on Instagram.

In late 2024, Keaton posted behind-the-scenes photos and videos from a recording session for her holiday single “First Christmas” — her first-ever solo recording project.

She also occasionally shared photos with her kids: daughter Dexter, 29 and son, Duke, 25.

The First Wives Club star even used the social media platform to showcase her signature quirky and independent spirit.

On her 77th birthday in January 2023, Keaton posted a montage of various elaborate cakes, set to the sound of her own voice singing “Happy Birthday.”

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE… ME!” she captioned the playful post.

Keaton rose to fame in the 1970s thanks to her role in The Godfather films and her collaborations with director Woody Allen. She won an Oscar for Best Actress for 1977’s Annie Hall.

Her long career included movies like Father of the Bride and multiple collaborations with director Nancy Meyers, asw well as the Book Club franchise.
