HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Houston police are working to find the suspect behind the shooting death of a man in the city’s northside.

Police said they received a call just before 5 a.m. Wednesday regarding a shooting in the 7300 block of Jensen Drive. According to officers, multiple witnesses reported hearing gunshots before the victim was found.

A detective with the Houston Police Department said the victim was at a friend’s apartment when, for some unknown reason, he went out.

HPD said witnesses told them that two Hispanic men approached the apartment and fired their weapon, wounding the victim, before running away.

After the gunshots went off, the victim stumbled back into the apartment, HPD said.

Police said the suspects were described as three Hispanic men about 5 feet 1 inch and 5 feet 8 inches tall. Authorities said they were armed with handguns and a rifle. One of the suspects was described as a larger man wearing a black hoodie.

The suspects were reported to have fled the location in a small blue vehicle of unknown make or model.
