A source tells PEOPLE that the actress, 56, spent Thanksgiving with her boyfriend, 50, who “fits right in with her friends”

Things between Jennifer Aniston and her boyfriend Jim Curtis are heating up.

The Morning Show star, 56, celebrated Thanksgiving together, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively, and she’s feeling “excited” about where things are going with the hypnotherapist.

“Jen celebrated Thanksgiving with Jim and her usual friend group. They always get together and cook, play games and have the best time,” the source says. “Jim fits right in with her friends. Everything in her life has come together and she’s excited about it.”

Aniston — who went Instagram official with Curtis, 50, on his birthday in early November — “feels confident with Jim,” the source shares. “She’s comfortable letting people see a bit more of a relationship that feels truly grown-up and good.”

“She knows people have always rooted for her to find love, and now that she’s in a happy place, she wants to share that.”

The couple stepped out in New York City following the holiday on Saturday, Nov. 29, and were seen exiting West Village hotspot Cafe Cluny after having brunch together in photos obtained by PEOPLE.

A source said that they sat at a table by the window together and “looked very happy” during the outing.

After she hard-launched her relationship with Curtis — who she was first seen with on a yacht in July, alongside friends Jason Bateman and Amanda Anka — Aniston brought him as her date to the Elle Women in Hollywood event, which marked their first public appearance together.

In an interview for the outlet, she called her beau “quite extraordinary” as she explained his line of work, which she said is “a beautiful thing to commit your life to.”

“Hypnotism is one of the many things that he does,” she said. “[He] helps many, many people. He’s very special, very normal and very kind, and wants to help people heal, move through their trauma and stagnation into clarity.”

Curtis also got the stamp of approval publicly from Aniston’s longtime friend Adam Sandler, who introduced her at the L.A. event.

“When we are around you, me and [wife] Jackie [Sandler] are so happy you and Jim found each other and are having the love affair you two deserve,” the actor said. “We love you, Jim.”

A source previously told PEOPLE that Aniston is “really in a great place” in life amidst her new relationship. “She acts like she feels very safe with him,” the insider said.

“Their relationship is different. She’s very excited about it. It’s obvious that she admires him,” they added.
