The renewal comes ahead of next year’s premiere of Season 2, Part 2.

Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) is coming back to take what’s hers. That’s right, Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black has been picked up for a third and final season.

Tyler Perry's Beauty in Black Season 3 Trailer | Netflix | Release Date, Updates, Part 1 Ending

News of the Bellaries’ last go-around has arrived before Part 2 of Season 2 has even premiered. You can tune into all the vicious family power plays when Part 2 debuts March 19, only on Netflix. See a slew of new photos from the second half of the season here.

Season 1 of the series spent seven weeks ranked in the Top 10, and in its second week it was No. 1 across 28 countries. Season 2, Part 1, was also the No. 1 show in 14 countries in the second week of its debut.

Since Season 1, we’ve watched underdog Kimmie go from dancing for survival in the Chicago club scene to sitting at the head of the table as chief operating officer of the hair-care empire Beauty in Black. Now she’s the HBIC (Head Bellarie in Charge) of the family under the tutelage of her husband, businessman Horace Bellarie (Ricco Ross).

“Kimmie’s transformation has honestly been one of the highlights of my career so far,” Williams says. “Getting to dive into a character’s evolution is one of my favorite things ever about acting. I think her confidence really stems from Horace. He believed in her from the start, and he’s been coaching her on how to not only survive this family but [also how] to take up her rightful space with them. Now we’re finally watching her step into that power, and it’s so fun to play.”

Season 2, Part 1, ends with Kimmie’s first day at the office as COO, and no Bellarie is pleased to see her — or have their power called into question.

Horace’s entitled sons, Roy (Julian Horton) and Charles (Steven G. Norfleet), aren’t thrilled with calling their new stepmom “boss.” Then there’s Horace’s dodgy brother, Norman (Richard Lawson), and resentful ex-wife, Olivia (Debbi Morgan), who have their claws in the family business.

Kimmie also manages to put Jules (Charles Malik Whitfield), the head of security (and her old boss), in his place, along with Roy’s estranged wife, Mallory (Crystle Stewart). But Stewart advises not to underestimate Beauty in Black’s (former) queen bee, as she faces off with Kimmie in the back half of the season. “Mallory has a few tricks no one sees coming,” she says. “If you think she’s already done her worst, you’re not ready.”

Keep coming back to Tudum for more updates on the Bellarie family’s scheming. Catch up on all the chaos in Season 2, Part 1, of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black before Part 2 premieres on March 19. Season 3 is coming soon to Netflix.
