But that’s not all. In an unexpected twist, Carrie Underwood transformed Ozzy’s legendary rock anthem into a stunning country ballad — leaving fans worldwide in absolute awe. Her bold tribute has not only gone viral but sparked a wave of love and nostalgia across both rock and country music communities.
What inspired Carrie to honor the Prince of Darkness this way? And could a full country-rock crossover album be next for the superstar?

Carrie Underwood is turning heads once again—this time for her chilling rendition of Ozzy Osbourne’s emotional ballad “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” which is going viral following the Prince of Darkness’ final live performance ever.
In a video now gaining serious traction on TikTok, Underwood visited the Howard Stern Show in 2023, taking the stage with a powerful, soulful version of Osbourne’s 1991 hit.
Backed by her full band and draped in atmospheric lighting, she commanded the moment with soaring vocals that channeled the pain and rawness of the original—while putting her own country-rock spin on it. The TikTok clip, posted by @dansali13, has racked up thousands of views and comments, with fans calling her performance “goosebump-inducing,” “unexpectedly perfect,” and “a flawless tribute.”
“Carrie Underwood is the definition of the TOTAL PACKAGE,” another fan in the comment section was convinced.
“Carrie is a amazing person. She didn’t try to copy Ozzy. Ozzy is one of a kind artist. She did her version of a great song. 👏👏,” another wrote, with a third commending, “Great job. Not a huge fan of Carrie but she made it her own. Class act asking for the Osborne’s blessing 👍.”
One person on X (formerly Twitter) called the country songstress a “living legend,” as someone else wrote, “I love her rendition. One of my favorite covers from her. She really does make every song sound amazing!!!”
The renewed interest in the song comes just days after Osbourne, 75, appeared onstage for what was reportedly his last-ever live performance, marking the end of an era for the heavy metal rockstar that spanned over five decades.
“Mama, I’m Coming Home” was originally released on the iconic rocker’s 1991 album No More Tears, co-written with his longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde and legendary songwriter Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead. The song has long been considered one of Ozzy’s most sentimental and personal works, written as a tribute to his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne.
