A missing woman’s remains were found buried at a North Carolina home, resulting in a murder charge.

On Sunday, June 28, officials obtained a warrant charging 25-year-old Jaydakis Kashaune Hamilton with first-degree murder after investigators searched a home on Pebblestone Lane in Rutherfordton and found human remains buried on the property, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office announced.

The remains have since been identified as 30-year-old Jordan Elaine Wishon, who had been reported missing, officials said.

Just two days before, on Friday, June 26, authorities said Wishon had been reported missing from the area of South Church Street in Mooresboro, N.C. After investigators conducted interviews about her disappearance, they executed multiple search warrants that same day into the next morning. At 5:17 a.m. local time on Saturday, June 27, detectives conducted a search of the home on Pebblestone Lane and found Wishon’s remains, the sheriff’s office said.

The next day, the warrant was issued for Hamilton, who was already incarcerated at the Polk County Detention Center on unrelated charges. He has not been served with the outstanding warrant, officials said on Monday, June 29.

It is unclear if Hamilton has secured legal representation. A spokesperson for the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office confirms to PEOPLE that the 47-year-old woman was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and accessory after the fact. In addition, Tiquah Dominique Carter, 33, was also arrested and charged with accessory.

Following the tragic news, a family friend, Glen Overhulser, confirmed to ABC affiliate WLOS that Wishon lived at the residence where her remains were found. He’d often pass by her while going to the mailbox.

“I knew Jordan, not well, but I knew her well enough to know she was a real sweet girl,” Overhulser told the outlet.

An investigation into the woman’s death is ongoing.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office asked the public to “keep the family and loved ones of Jordan Wishon in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.”
