The cast was announced on Tuesday via a live stream on the show’s YouTube channel, and fans were immediately intrigued by Lyric’s story after she mentioned her father’s notoriety in the music business.
After revealing her own background as a singer in her native Hawaii, the 25-year-old attorney shared that her father was a “famous ’80s teenage pop star.”
lenn began pursuing his music career at just 10 years old while helping his father entertain guests on family-run bus tours around the island of Kauai.
In 1987, the then-teenager won a local radio talent contest in Hawaii, performing Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You, which was originally recorded and released by George Benson in 1985.
While Glenn is best known for his vocals on his own version of the song released in 1987, he’s also behind other notable songs, including She Ain’t Worth It, featuring Bobby Brown (1990), and All I’m Missing Is You, featuring Ray Parker Jr. (1990).
Lyric appears to have a close bond with her father, as she recently shared an Instagram video of them singing together.
The father-daughter duo filmed themselves singing Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ 1983 hit duet, Islands in the Stream.
Lyric also gave a shoutout to her father in a video on June 24, while wishing him a happy birthday.
The reality star newbie filmed herself mouthing the words to a TikTok trend while her dad mimicked her movements in the background.
“Do you ever wish you were not famous and can live an ordinary life? To be honest, no,” she repeated.

The show has already experienced a major last-minute shakeup when original cast member Levi Banks was abruptly removed from the cast, a production source exclusively told The U.S. Sun.
He was replaced by New Jersey financial analyst Yash Patel, who is among the 14 houseguests officially revealed so far ahead of Thursday’s premiere.
Season 28 of Big Brother kicks off with a 90-minute episode at 8:00 p.m. EST/PST on CBS, with episodes also streaming on Paramount+.
