NEW YORK (VINnews) — Tucker Carlson’s statements in recent days range from downright antisemitism to spurious attacks on Israel and its elected Prime Minister.

On Wednesday, Tucker Carlson claimed in a Glenn Greenwald interview that Israeli PM Netanyahu told multiple people, “I control the United States. I control Donald Trump.”

“Bibi’s running around — this is a fact, I’m not guessing about this because I talked to people he said it to — is running around the Middle East, his region in his own country and telling people point blank, just stating it, ‘I control the United States. I control Donald Trump.’”

The assertion drew a swift denial from David M. Friedman, Trump’s former ambassador to Israel, who demanded proof and stated he has never heard such remarks from Netanyahu amid Israel’s ongoing wars.

Additionally Carlson claimed, based on his warped theory of Israel controlling the US,  that America had prepared for war in Iraq after 9/11 at the behest of Israel. This too has been disproven, as the Israeli government led by Ariel Sharon pointed to Iran as the primary center of terrorism, and also attempted to stop President Bush from offering massive concessions to Arab countries who joined his anti-terrorist coalition.

During his eulogy for Charlie Kirk, Carlson did not hesitate to regurgitate antisemitic tropes that have existed for 2000 years, comparing Kirk to Jesus whom he claimed was killed “because he told the truth”. He spoke about a bunch of people “eating Hummus” and plotting the death of Jesus.

Carlson is continuing his attempt to utilize Kirk’s murder to promote an antisemitic agenda, after he claimed that the AJC had labelled Kirk an “antisemite” for inviting Carlson to a TPUSA event. Carlson claimed that Kirk was “stung” by the assertion, and has also claimed that Kirk detested Netanyahu and opposed the war in Gaza, fueling the conspiracy speculations about his murder.

Conservative journalist Laura Loomer questioned on X/Twitter on Monday why the Republican Party wasn’t condemning Carlson for using the Arizona memorial to imply that Jews murdered Kirk.

“Tucker is poisoning the party,” said Loomer.

The NGO StopAntisemitism said on social media that Tucker had desecrated the service for Kirk “with his ridiculous insinuation that Jews were behind his assassination.”

Journalist Yashar Ali commented that it was difficult to see Carlson’s remarks in any other way, particularly given his recent rhetoric and guests invited on his show.

“Almost every single Neo-Nazi I track on a daily basis believes strongly that Tucker was talking about Jews,” said Ali.
