The hosts of Fox & Friends repeatedly tried to change the subject on Tuesday morning after Donald Trump gushed over host Ainsley Earhardt’s romance with Fox co-star Sean Hannity during a live interview.
Earhardt, Lawrence B. Jones and Charles Hurt had been hosting the commander-in-chief Tuesday when he made the remarks – before asking which member of the showbiz couple earned more money.
Calling in from Washington, DC, Trump used his federal takeover of the municipality to segue into Earhardt and her colleague’s relationship. Earhardt and Hannity have been dating for five years, as was first revealed exclusively by Daily Mail.
‘I’ve made Washington, DC, a- just an incredible place in four days,’ Trump began
‘I have friends that say- they’re going out to dinner, they say, ‘Do you see what’s happening with the restaurants? They’re all bursting – they were closing and going bankrupt.’
‘There’s a guy named Sean Hannity – he might take a very lovely young lady he knows very, very well to dinner in Washington, and they don’t have to – and she’s sitting right next you by the way,’ he went on, as Earhardt smiled, laughed and rolled her eyes.
‘I don’t want to get him in trouble, so we better explain exactly,’ Trump then added, joking, ‘We don’t want any secrets here.

‘That is the greatest relationship,’ he ultimately gushed. ‘I hope I’m not breaking any news.’
He did not stop there, however – and as he continued, Jones attempted to steer the conversation back toward something more serious.
‘But Mr. President,’ Jones said at a point, as the president spoke over him.
‘This could be the biggest – most important thing I’ve said,’ Trump argued, clearly caught up in the spiel.
‘Those are two great – Ainsley and Sean – great people,’ he continued.
‘And when they go out to dinner, I don’t want to see them get mugged.
‘Now they can go out, they can hold hands, they can walk down the street, they’re both superstars,’ he insisted.
The Republican then appeared to spawn some more discomfort by speculating about the stars’ suspected salaries.
‘I want to know who is making more money,’ he said, while being met with more laughter. ‘She has to be making a lot.’
Hannity is the network’s best paid star and earns $25 million-a-year, according to Forbes. It is unclear how much Earhardt earns, but her salary likely runs into the millions.

‘There’s a guy named Sean Hannity – he might take a very lovely young lady he knows very, very well to dinner in Washington, and they don’t have to – and she’s sitting right next you by the way,’ Trump said at a point, before speculating about both Hannity and Earhardt’s salaries
Earhardt, off-camera, could be heard smirking in response.
Jones then attempted to get back to the topic at-hand – Trump’s conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and several other European heads of state at the White House on Monday
‘We’re so- Mr. President. We’re so happy. But on a serious note, when you have those world leaders, this is a topic of conversation for the whole world.’
The interview trudged on from there, with Trump admitting that Ukraine will need to cede more land to Russia if they want to reach a deal to end the war.
‘This is a war, and Russia is a powerful military nation, whether people like it or not,’ Trump said. ‘It’s a powerful nation. It’s a much bigger nation.’
The conservative could not help but bring up Earhardt’s relationship with Hannity one again, though, just minutes later – as Hurt tried to bring the interview to a close.
‘President trump, thank you for joining us – we know you have lots of other wars you need to end and that is more important than anything,’ he said with a smile as Earhardt and Jones stayed serious. ‘We appreciate you joining us this morning.’
‘Thank you, Charlie. And thank you and Ainsley. I hope I didn’t get you in trouble.’
