The Duke of Sussex spoke about the purpose of service and leadership

Prince Harry has travelled to Canada to attend the OREA Power House Conference, hosted at the Hilton Toronto, while his wife, Meghan Markle, stays in the US.

The Duke of Sussex’s appearance at the Ontario property sector’s major conference marks a departure from typical real estate content.

Harry spoke to attendees about the importance of service and leadership, rather than property market topics.

Conference organisers, The Buzz Conference, promoted the event on Instagram, describing Harry as a “humanitarian, mental health advocate, environmentalist, and military combat veteran”.

They noted his dedication to “creating positive and lasting change for communities and the planet, particularly in advancing conversations around resilience and healing”.

The organisers promised attendees wouldn’t want to miss Harry’s presentation, urging them to buy tickets quickly for the Toronto event.

The promotional material emphasised that Harry “will bring a powerful message of service and leadership to the Power House stage”.

Harry’s appearance comes as his wife, Meghan, remains in the US while promoting her As Ever brand.

As Ever has posted on Instagram about exclusive discounts across the festive period.

The brand shared photos of the Duchess of Sussex writing a note next to a series of As Ever products.

The post, which features nine photos, was simply captioned “December Mood”.

Harry’s appearance follows his brother, Prince William, discussing the “leadership” his father, the King, has served.

Speaking to more than 300 delegates from 25 countries, William outlined Wales’s emergence as a significant European centre for renewable resources and a home to groundbreaking technological innovation.

The prince emphasised his commitment to continuing the King’s decades-long support for Welsh enterprise, noting that his father encouraged Sony’s co-founder to establish the company’s first European factory in Wales over 50 years ago.

William told the summit audience said: “His leadership in championing Welsh business and innovation is something which I am proud to have the opportunity to continue today.”

The prince discussed Wales’s transformation into one of Europe’s most significant renewable energy centres.

“Floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea, tidal stream energy in the Irish Sea, a Hydrogen Hub in the North and solar power in Pembrokeshire” are positioning Wales as a premier global clean-energy hub, William explained.

The Prince of Wales drew attention to Newport’s world-first compound semiconductor cluster, which is driving progress in artificial intelligence, telecommunications, autonomous electric vehicles, and advanced computing.

William visited KLA’s facility and observed the cluster’s innovative work firsthand.

He said: “What struck me most during that visit was not only the sophistication of the technology, but the sense of pride and purpose in the people building it.”

The prince expressed honour at supporting Wales’s evolution as a dynamic nation, stating that the summit marks a new chapter in Welsh investment.

“Diolch. Thank you,” William concluded his address, using both Welsh and English to acknowledge attendees’ commitment to partnership and shared achievement.
