Greg Gutfeld Signs Multi-Year Deal With Fox News Media, Extending Run as Late-Night King

Greg Gutfeld Extends Fox News Contract for Late Night and 'The Five'

Greg Gutfeld, the sharp-tongued host who has redefined late-night television on cable, is here to stay. Fox News Media announced that Gutfeld has signed a multi-year contract extension, ensuring he will continue as host of the hit opinion/comedy program Gutfeld! and as co-host of the top-rated roundtable The Five.

Under the new deal, Gutfeld will also occasionally host and produce programming for Fox Nation, the network’s subscription-based streaming platform. While the financial terms were not disclosed, the agreement secures one of Fox News’s biggest breakout stars at a time when the network continues to dominate cable ratings.

A Late-Night Gamble That Paid Off

Fox News added Gutfeld! to its weeknight lineup just three years ago, aiming to create a conservative rival to traditional late-night staples on broadcast networks. The risk paid off. In the most recent quarter, the show ranked No. 1 in the 25–54 advertiser-coveted demographic, averaging 304,000 viewers per night. In total viewers, Gutfeld! regularly ranks in the top five across all cable, with March numbers averaging 2.19 million viewers.

“The show has outperformed expectations from the very beginning,” a Fox News spokesperson said. “Greg brings a unique voice, humor, and perspective that has struck a chord with millions of viewers night after night.”

Anchoring a Ratings Powerhouse

In addition to Gutfeld!, the outspoken host remains a central figure on The Five. The panel show was once again the No. 1 program in cable news last quarter, averaging a massive 3.04 million total viewers. Gutfeld’s satirical edge and combative banter with co-hosts Dana Perino, Jesse Watters, Jeanine Pirro, and Jessica Tarlov have made him both a fan favorite and a lightning rod for critics.

Fox News executives clearly view Gutfeld as a vital part of the network’s future, not only on traditional television but also on digital platforms like Fox Nation, where he will expand his creative role.

A Proven Voice in Conservative Comedy

Gutfeld is no stranger to carving his own space at the network. Before Gutfeld! launched in 2021, he hosted The Greg Gutfeld Show on weekends from 2015 to 2021, steadily building a cult following. He first joined Fox News in 2007 as the host of Red Eye, the irreverent late-night show that ran for more than a decade and showcased his trademark mix of humor and sharp political commentary.

“I never set out to be a late-night host,” Gutfeld once joked in an interview. “But I did set out to be myself — and apparently that works.”

The Bigger Picture

The renewal comes as late-night television itself is undergoing seismic changes. Traditional network late shows have seen ratings slip in recent years, while Gutfeld has built a loyal base of viewers who prefer his brand of comedic conservatism. For Fox News, his continued success adds a powerful entertainment element to a lineup dominated by hard news and opinion.

While fans can expect Gutfeld to continue skewering political correctness, media rivals, and his own colleagues, the new deal signals that the network is also willing to give him more creative freedom beyond his nightly show.

As Fox News puts it, Greg Gutfeld isn’t just part of the conversation anymore — he’s leading it.
