Married At First Sight Australia 2026 came to a tear-jerking end with Filip Gregov proposing to Stella Mickunaite.

For the second time in the show’s history, a groom (Filip) got down on one knee and popped the question at Final Vows.

Much to Stella’s surprise, he pulled out a jaw-dropping ring, an elongated cushion diamond displayed on an understated gold band.

After the proposal, we spoke exclusively with Ernesto Buono, the founder of Ernesto Buono Fine Jewellery in Sydney, about the gorgeous ring’s value.

The master jeweller estimated that the ring could be worth as much as $20,000 as he provided some juicy details about the jewel.

“The ring is a solitaire rectangular cushion and is approximately 1.5 carats. A lab-grown diamond will be in the 6k range and natural around 20k,” he tells us.

Given that Stella had no idea about the proposal, Filip had to pick out the ring himself, and, luckily for him, it was exactly what she’d hoped for.

“I just picked something nice. I don’t know anything about rings, so I looked around, saw one and thought ‘that’s the one’. I didn’t want to overthink it,” he told Nine.

Filip had tried to subtly ask Stella about her tastes during the experiment, but didn’t get a set answer.

But, in a happy coincidence, the ring perfectly matched one that Stella had put on her vision board, proving they are a match made in heaven!

Stella had no idea the proposal was coming and actually thought Filip was pranking her before he pulled out the diamond ring.

“I thought he was doing the shoelace prank, but then I realised he’s not, and I was like, ‘OK, this is happening!’,” she told Nine.

“I burst into tears as per usual. It felt like the world just dissolved.”

Are Stella and Filip still together?

While the proposal has only just been revealed publicly, it was actually filmed late last year, and the couple have been settling into their new life in Sydney together.

They are already planning their wedding and have even set a date – the first anniversary of their MAFS wedding in July 2026.

They want to tie the knot in Croatia in honour of Filip’s heritage, and to ensure that Stella’s Lithuanian family will be able to attend.

While they are in no rush, they have also had conversations about starting a family together!

“We’ve already run a ChatGPT simulation on what our kids would look like,” Stella recently told New Idea.
