Bondi terror attack hero Ahmed Al Ahmed has been charged with assaulting his father.
The 44-year-old is accused of attacking his elderly father in his own home in March, allegedly putting him in a headlock.
He will face court on July 29 after being charged with common assault and stalking.
7NEWS can also reveal that police have taken out an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) against Ahmed to protect his father.
It says Ahmed cannot “assault”, “stalk”, “harass”, or “contact” his dad.
He must also stay 100 metres away from where he lives and works.

It comes as the two brothers of Ahmed face criminal charges. They’re accused of threatening him over the phone and demanding he pays them each $100,000.
It’s alleged to have happened after a fundraiser created to support Ahmed raised $2.6 million.
