The 10-year-old girl was taken to hospital with “significant” untreated injuries as well as dehydration and critical malnutrition, police say.

A woman has been charged with torture after 10-year-old Queensland girl was rushed to hospital suffering from dehydration, malnutrition and untreated injuries.

The girl was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital on February 9, Queensland Police say.

They said she was suffering from “significant” untreated injuries as well as dehydration and critical malnutrition.

Police later declared a crime scene at a Logan Reserve home.

A 40-year-old woman had since been charged with three counts of fail to supply necessaries and one count of torture, police said on Tuesday.

She is due to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The child remains in intensive care in a stable condition.
