STRICTLY Come Dancing viewers have been left fuming over Lewis Cope’s dance experience after he nailed another routine with Katya Jones on Saturday night.

The pair performed a Foxtrot and were met with plenty of praise from the judges, but the same couldn’t be said for all of the viewers at home.

Viewers weren’t happy with Katya’s comments
Over the last few weeks, some have expressed their unhappiness over Lewis’ previous dance experience.

As they headed upstairs to speak to Claudia Winkleman, Katya also admitted she and Lewis were on the “same level”.

She said: “Just as we were going to the floor, I said, ‘I love dancing with you’ and it really feels like what Motsi said, we are on the same level, it’s the most beautiful feeling.”

They were awarded a score of 34 from the judges, with Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke giving them an 8 and Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas awarding them 9’s each.

BBC One fans weren’t happy about the comment as they flocked to X to share their views.

One person commented: “Katya fully admitting that her and Lewis are dancing at the same level lmao. #Strictly.”

Another fumed: “It’s so unfair when the non Dancers are pitted against them. Look at Shirley’s remark to Lewis about ‘but we’re only in week 4’.

“Like they all made allowances for Ross in Week 2 and 3 when he had zero dance training…”

Somebody else said: “I get up and make coffee when Lewis comes on as i know he is going to be top of the night.”

However, not everybody felt the same way as many took to X to compliment the pair on their dance.

One wrote: “Mr Lewis… I’m speechless. He moves so naturally and effortlessly, WHATTT?”

Someone else agreed: “Absolutely beautiful dance. Well done Lewis and Katya.”

While a third gushed: “Lewis outstanding great song choice for that dance.”

The former Emmerdale star recently hit back at claims as he told The Sun: “I don’t even know where this is all coming from, to be honest, because I haven’t trained professionally as a dancer — I’ve trained professionally as an actor.

“I haven’t danced for about 12 years, and even when I did dance when I was younger, I was with a hip-hop dance crew for a couple of years.

“And then I did one role in Billy Elliot where I did one tap dance and that was when I was 11, which is nearly 20 years ago.”

Lewis was in the stage show of Billy Elliot but was cast as Billy’s friend and only had one dance.

He continued: “So I don’t really understand where the pressure of this ‘professionally trained dancer’ is coming from. Because I certainly don’t feel that way at all.

“And to be working with people like Katya, who’s danced for 30 years and is a professional dancer, it’s a bit of an insult to them to call me a professional. I really think it does her a disservice.”
