Miley Cyrus just revealed a bizarre aversion most people never think about.
During her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday, the singer opened up about a surprising fear that makes the holiday season especially uncomfortable for her: She can’t stand anything involving paper.
“Christmas, I’m known as a little bit of a Grinch because I have a qualm with Christmas,” Cyrus said. “I hate paper.”
Her confession came at an unfortunately perfect moment — Kimmel had a stray sheet sitting on his desk that instantly made Cyrus gag.
“The real problem for me with paper is when people have dry hands and they touch paper and then it’s Christmas and it’s cold and everyone’s hands are dry and they’re all touching paper,” she said, still reacting to the thought of it.

Her aversion runs so deep that she avoids even the sweetest gesture.
“When someone sends me a lovely letter, I just don’t even open it,” she said.
Cyrus added that she’s totally fine with texts and emails — anything that doesn’t involve the dreaded material. She admitted the issue is escalating, telling Kimmel that “it’s getting worse,” and saying that she may need an “intervention” because it’s beginning to interfere with her daily life.
“Someone gets an Amazon box, I’m sick, because the cardboard is the worst of it all,” she said. “It’s extra dry, and there’s packaging within it. That’s the best part, that’s really why I got engaged because I just make my fiancé open all the packages outside.”
But there is one exception.

“This is the thing, waxed paper, anything that’s got like a smooth surface, that’s better,” she explained.
When Kimmel asked how she manages reading, Cyrus had an immediate answer.

“I am not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation, and I had completely surrendered,” Cyrus said. “I actually had never gone to Japan, which I did that purposefully. I wanted one place in the world that could be my special place that I saved for me.”
