🚨 JAVEAYAH HARRIS CASE TAKES A SH0CKING TURN — SHERIFF MAKES A STUNNING STATEMENT ABOUT THE 4-YEAR-OLD’S PARENTS BEFORE REVEALING A NEW DISCOVERY
Aiken County’s sheriff refused to call the 4-year-old’s parents mother and father as he detailed what investigators found at a Fairfield County waterway.
AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. — Sheriff Marty Sawyer refused to refer to Johmarea Harris and Michilae Herring as mother and father as he announced that some of 4-year-old Javeayah Harris’ remains had been found — and explained why some may never be recovered.

“They don’t deserve that title,” he said.
As the Aiken County sheriff and several members of his staff walked out to a podium on Thursday, many were wearing Javeayah’s favorite color, pink, in honor of the small child whose disappearance initially led to a missing person search but progressed to a homicide investigation with two arrests.
Authorities previously said that by the time that Javeayah was reported missing on June 30, she had likely already been dead for around 30 days.
At the conference, Sawyer confirmed that teams searching several miles away in Fairfield County had uncovered “a few” human remains near the Cedar Creek Reservoir, also known as Stumpy Pond. Those remains were tested by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and, through DNA analysis, were consistent with a child of Harris and Herring.
“In my 37 year career in law enforcement, I have never, ever heard of anything so horrific,” he said.
Sawyer said that forensic evidence, statements and analysis showed “extensive and deliberate efforts were made to destroy and conceal evidence” of the child’s death.
“Our information reveals the use of corrosive chemicals and other tools that were used to accelerate the destruction of her little body,” he said. “After this was completed, these two individuals poured what remains were left of Javeayah into the Cedar Creek Reservoir.”
Both Harris and Herring are now facing additional charges of destruction and desecration of human remains.
“It’s unlikely that the entirety of Javeayah’s body or any other remains from this point forward will be recovered,” the sheriff said.
In closing his remarks, Sheriff Sawyer asked the community to pray for the child’s extended family and those involved in the investigation.
He also thanked SLED, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, the community, and the divers who spent hours searching for Javeayah’s remains.
“Even in the face of tragedy, compassion, unity and service remain stronger than the darkness we’ve encountered,” he said.
