🚨 HE SET OUT FOR A ROUTINE DIVE OFF TASMANIA’S COAST… THEN A SHARK ATT-ACK TURNED THE TRIP INTO A FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL
A warning has been issued to swimmers and divers.
A recreational shore diver has been bitten by a two-metre shark in waters off southern Tasmania.
The 31-year-old man was diving with two other people about eight metre below the surface and roughly 50m offshore from Coal Point in Adventure Bay when he was attacked on Saturday morning.
He was able to return to shore, where fellow divers assisted him and contacted emergency services about 9.10am.

The diver suffered a bite to his lower forearm and was treated at the scene for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening before being airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a stable condition.
Tasmania Police said the shark was believed to be a two-metre-long broadnose sevengill shark.
A witness told the ABC the diver suffered a substantial bite.
“It was a pretty good bite without being anything serious … just a good, dog-sized bite, maybe the top of his arm,” he said.
The witness said the group had been spearfishing while scuba diving when the attack happened.
“The guy who was bitten had speared a fish and had been bitten by the shark while retrieving the fish on the spear,” he said.
Police vessel Dauntless is patrolling the area, but there have been no further sightings of the shark.
Swimmers and divers in the Bruny Island area have been urged to exercise caution following the incident.
“While this appears to be an isolated incident, we are reminding anyone planning to swim or dive in the area to remain vigilant, follow local safety advice and be aware of their surroundings,” Inspector Darren Latham said.
