During the visit, Their Majesties are expected to be received by their Spanish counterparts, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, as is customary on outward state visits of this nature.
Whether the couple’s daughters, Princess Leonor, 20, and Infanta Sofia, 19, will participate in proceedings remains uncertain.
However, should a State Banquet form part of the programme, as is typical on such occasions, the two young princesses could have the opportunity to wear tiaras for the first time at an official engagement.
