THE CLUE HIDDEN UNDER HIS CAR MAY EXPLAIN EVERYTHING 💥 POLICE EXAMINE GPS DEVICE AFTER BRAZEN SYDNEY DRIVEWAY EXECUTION

A car enthusiast was seemingly unaware that a GPS tracker had been fitted to his vehicle before he was gunned down in his driveway in Sydney‘s north-west.

Jack Cheung, 35, was shot multiple times as he got into his Hyundai at his North Rocks Road home in Carlingford just after 5.30am on Wednesday.

Tradies found him unresponsive in his car when they arrived at the home for a job 90 minutes later. Mr Cheung could not be revived.

Detectives later found a GPS tracker fitted to Mr Cheung’s car and are now investigating potential underworld links.

Police confirmed that Mr Cheung was known to them but had a minimal criminal history, despite facing court for being in possession of an unauthorised firearm.

While Mr Cheung was not involved in any organised crime network, his brother is believed to be a member of Sydney’s notorious Coconut Cartel, police sources told media.

It’s understood Mr Cheung lived at the home with his mother, who was holidaying in Thailand but is now on her way home.

Shocked neighbours described Mr Cheung as a polite man who loved his car, which he raced at Eastern Creek.

‘We saw Jack all the time,’ a woman told Seven News.

‘All he did was work on his car.’

Another added: ‘We are all in shock.’

The gunman remains on the run as of Thursday morning.

Detectives are investigating whether underworld links are a motive.

‘It’s not something that we’re discounting – but it’s not something that we can confirm at this time,’ NSW Police Acting Superintendent Michael Marinello told reporters.

‘It does seem to be a very brazen attack.

‘We do not believe that this is a random attack, we believe this is an isolated incident and so we can reassure the public that there is no ongoing threat.

‘There are people who were home at the time, and they are assisting us with our enquiries.’

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
