HE FORGAVE HER FOR EVERYTHING… BUT FATE NEVER GAVE THEM ONE LAST GOODBYE 😢 MAN D-IES BEFORE REUNITING WITH WIFE HE STOOD BY DESPITE ALLEGED POIS0N PLOT, SHO0TING AND BOMB ATTEMPT

A MAN whose final wish was to be reunited with his wife despite her plotting to shoot and poison him has died before she was released from prison.

Ray Weatherall, who was in his early 60s, lost his battle with brain cancer after desperately hoping to survive long enough to see his wife, Hayley, Weatherall freed from her life sentence.

Hayley had tried to murder Ray in 2015 along with her lover, Glenn Pollard – who was also Ray’s best friend.

The dad was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2015 and given 18 months to live, a prognosis that inspired Hayley and Glenn to plot his death.

The pair’s numerous attempts on Ray’s life included shooting him in the face, conspiring to feed him a deadly cocktail of insulin and sleeping pills, and orchestrating a swimming pool heater explosion.

But remarkably survived being shot in the face, a swimming pool heater explosion, and a scheme to kill him with sleeping pills and insulin.

Ray previously revealed that he was “hanging on” until Hayley completed her minimum prison term in seven years’ time.

Now, his family have sadly announced his death on Facebook this week.

Ray’s son Sam, posted a photo of them together captioned: “Fly high Dad”.

Dozens of mourners left tributes, with several relatives changing their profile photos to pictures of Ray with angel and heart emojis.

One comment read, “Heartbreaking. Rest in peace Uncle Ray,” while another described him as “one of life’s heroes.”

The scorned husband, who lived over a decade longer than expected, made 200-mile round trips to visit Hayley every month in prison.

She is still serving a life sentence at HMP Bronzefield in Ashford, Surrey, with a minimum of 15 years.

“There has been no break,” he said previously.

“She gives me a cuddle and a kiss and we sit together, and we always have the family room where it’s got a double sofa.”

“It’s lovely. I wouldn’t want to be not seeing her, let’s put it that way. I’d feel all wrong.”

Hayley and Ray had been together for nine years when the plot took place, after getting married in 2015 shortly before Ray’s diagnosis.

The mum-of-three had then struck up a relationship with Glen, with the pair exchanging naked pictures on WhatsApp.

As well as shooting and poisoning Ray, Hayley also considered pushing him overboard on a fishing trip, a court heard.

The shooting was carried out by Glen’s daughter Heather, 26, in Sandwich, Kent, with the bullet hitting Ray’s cheekbone.

Ray was rolling a cigarette on a break from helping his son Sam cut down a tree when he was blasted with the .22 hunting rifle.

The plot was foiled by detectives who investigated the shooting.

In November 2018, Hayley and the Pollards, of West Stourmouth, Kent, were all convicted at Maidstone Crown Court of conspiracy to murder.

Glen received a life sentence for his part in the crimes, with a minimum of 17 years and Heather a minimum of 15.

Before his death, Ray had described Hayley as the victim in the case, saying she had been brainwashed by Glenn.

He said: “I want her to come back to me.”

When asked if Hayley is still welcome at the family home, the father-of-seven said: “As far as I’m concerned, yes.

“Well, because I love her. And if it weren’t for Mr Pollard, none of this would have ever happened.”
