ONE NIGHT, THREE CRASH SCENES… AND QUEENSLAND’S ROADS BECAME THE BACKDROP TO A SERIES OF TRAGEDIES
Three people have died and two others are injured after multiple crashes across Queensland.
The first incident occurred about 7pm on Friday when a motorcycle crashed outside the Dreamworld amusement park on Whitewater Way on the Gold Coast.
The male rider, 33, was found seriously injured at the scene and was taken by ambulance to hospital.
Another motorcycle crashed half an hour later along Milne St in Beenleigh, Logan.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and found the 46-year-old male rider and his passenger, a 22-year-old woman, had both died in the crash.
Footage from the scene shows parts of the motorcycle had been ripped from the vehicle and spread across the road and nature strip around the wreckage.
Just under two hours later, at 9.15pm, a Holden Rodeo smashed into a tree along Wilson Rd in Tiaro, about 60km south of Hervey Bay.
The front passenger, a 23-year-old woman, was killed in the crash while the driver, a 45-year-old man, was seriously injured and airlifted from the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit has launched investigations into the incidents and has called on anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
