Jeana Keough was forced to pause her chemotherapy and radiation treatment after doctors discovered something terrible

Real Housewives of Orange County star Jeana Keough has been forced to put her chemo and radiation treatment on pause after doctors discovered a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) clot in her leg and an infection.

Her daughter, Kara, shared the news via a post on Instagram, just days after revealing her mum’s tongue cancer diagnosis. Jeana Keough

Just days after revealing her cancer diagnosis, Jeana Keough has been hit by another health issue.  Instagram/@karakeoughboz

“Jeana was scheduled to get the G-tube this morning so she can get some nutrition. She hasn’t been able to eat a meal for 2 weeks, so she’s extremely depleted,” Kara wrote on Instagram.

“We uncovered a DVT clot in her leg, and now an infection, too. The feeding tube can’t be put directly into her stomach until there’s clarity on the infection.

“Chemo and radiation is temporarily paused so we can figure this out but you better believe Jeana is insisting she only had a ‘fake fever’ and that she’s fine to continue with the surgery.”

Kara asked for followers to pray that the infection clears and that her mum can get surgery as soon as possible, joking that “hangry Jeana” might “murder someone”.

Kara initially shared the news of her mum’s cancer diagnosis on July 19, setting up a GoFundMe to help pay for treatment.

On the fundraiser page, Kara explained that her mum had had a painful spot on her tongue and had even gone to the dentist several time to get it fixed, assuming that a tooth had been rubbing against it.

“I asked her how long the sore had been there. She paused, thought about it, and realised it had been nearly a year. A biopsy confirmed our worst fear: squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue,” the page reads.

Jeana underwent surgery to remove the cancer, but was then recommended to undergo a second surgery to remove lymph nodes after doctors discovered that the cancer had spread.

“Jeana is now in her fifth week of chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy. The treatments are relentless,” the page continued. Jeana Keough

“She is exhausted, struggling to stay awake, and becoming malnourished because the pain in her tongue and throat makes swallowing even the smallest bites or sips incredibly difficult.
