A SCREAM RIPPING ACROSS THE RIVER AND A MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE: When the empty kayak is left behind and the skilled tradie “evaporates” without a trace!
The family of a missing tradie is feeling “devastated and terrified” as volunteers travel up to two hours a day to keep the desperate search for the 53-year-old alive.
Shane Wilson disappeared during a day out at his favourite fishing spot on the Goulburn River at Ghin Ghin in rural Victoria on Saturday morning.

Wilson’s sister Melissa Teague said her brother was out on the water when his friend Paul “heard Shane yell, followed by a splash”.
Police recovered the 53-year-old’s kayak and paddle shortly after he disappeared but Teague said there has not been a trace of him since.
“Since then, nothing else has been found, and there have been no further clues,” she said.
“We’re desperately hoping someone may know something or remember something that could help bring Shane home.”
Teague said the family was told there was no search for Wilson on Thursday and efforts to find the tradie could be scaled back after Friday.
“As a family, we are absolutely devastated and terrified that Shane still hasn’t been found,” she said
“We are pleading with the community not to let the search end here. If you’re able to help in any way, we need more people out there looking.
“Shane could be anywhere. Please check riverbanks, waterways, dams, bushland and surrounding properties. Even if you think there’s nothing there, please have a look.
“We just want to bring our beautiful Shane home.”
Victoria Police, the State Emergency Service, search and rescue teams, divers and volunteers have been scouring the river, riverbanks and nearby bushland in the hope of finding Wilson.
“The search has been extensive, and we are so incredibly grateful to every single person who has given their time to help look for Shane,” Teague said.

“We’ve had volunteers travelling from an hour and a half to two hours away just to help us, and we can never thank them enough.
“Because many volunteers have travelled such long distances to help, they often need to leave by around 3pm to get home safely.
“If more local people are able to join the search, it may help keep more people on the ground for longer.
“We’re begging anyone local who is able to help to please come and join the search.”
