A routine shift suddenly turned into an unexpected delivery room… Queensland police officer delivers a b@by in the back seat of a car
Police stations are busy places, but even veteran officers have never seen anything like what happened in Queensland this week.
A 22-year-old mother gave birth to a healthy baby girl seven minutes after her partner pulled into the Browns Plains Police Station on Tuesday night.

Realising they were not going to make it to Logan Hospital, Constable Jenna Ziviani delivered the baby in the back seat of the couple’s red hatchback, hazard lights still blaring.
Police body camera footage shows paramedics assisting the woman from the car onto a stretcher, while the distinctive rhythmic cries of the newborn can be heard in the background.
“She did so well, my goodness,” Ziviani was heard telling colleagues on police body camera after the woman was safely in the care of paramedics.
“That was really cool, super special.
“The operator on the phone was amazing too, talked me through the whole process like… crowning, apply pressure, can you see the baby’s head, support the neck and the shoulders, okay awesome, baby’s out, is there movement, like they just talk you through it.”

Paramedics transported the woman and her baby girl to hospital and they are both now recovering at home.
Logan District Duty Officer, Senior Sergeant Aleisha Young said she had never before seen a baby born at a police station in her career.
“This is amazing,” Young said.
“In 27 years this is the first time this has happened.”
