Emergency services were called to Discovery Boulevard about 2.15am following reports of a “large disturbance involving a group of people”.

Police said officers arrived within eight minutes and found a scene of extensive damage.

Investigators said “significant damage” had been caused to vehicles on the street and a nearby residence.

As people fled, officers were told a badly injured man had been found nearby.

“As members of the group fled the scene, officers were alerted to a 21-year-old Redbank Plains man having been located nearby on Orchard Ave with significant head injuries,” police said.

Mr Achieu was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he remained for several days before dying on August 1 as a result of his injuries.

Detectives carried out 14 simultaneous searches across Logan, south Brisbane and Ipswich on Thursday.

Several people were taken into custody during the operation, including the four teenagers, all charged with murder.

Mr Jirima, Mr Tagelsir and Mr Nduwayo did not appear in person at their mention before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.

Their matters were adjourned until August 24, with each defendant remanded in custody.

Heathwood man Lasender Sheriff, 22, was also charged with murder but had the offence immediately dismissed at his first mention before the court on Friday.

His remains charged with contravening an order about information needed to access information stored electronically.

He is due back in Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 26 and remanded in custody.

Mr Obol is yet to have his matters heard in court.

Investigations are continuing.

Mr Achieu’s family alleged he had been attacked by “unknown individuals” and later died after life support was withdrawn.

“It is with a deeply saddened heart that I inform you of the passing of Jongkuch Peter Kur Jongkuch Achieu,” a family statement posted to a community group said.

“This is a life cut far too short and a loss felt profoundly by all who knew and loved him.”

The property at the centre of the incident is believed to have been operating as short-stay accommodation.

Nearby residents said at the time a party was under way before violence broke out and spread beyond the home.

The fallout was felt across the neighbourhood, with cars damaged, the home destroyed and the street closed for much of the following day. Several other partygoers were also taken to hospital with laceration-type injuries.

Mr Achieu’s death has prompted an outpouring of grief from his community, with many describing it as a devastating loss.

“Jongkuch will always be in our hearts and our prayers,” one person wrote on Facebook.

“Jongkuch’s life was cut short in its prime, a promising future ahead of him,” another said.
