JUNGLE BOUND?

I’m A Celebrity line up Olympic legend to star in next series just 12 months after ITV axed his hit show

ICE-SKATING legend Christopher Dean is being lined up to take part in this year’s I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here!

I can reveal that the Olympian, who famously won gold with partner Jayne Torvill, is in talks with ITV producers.

Chris is believed to have been on bosses’ hit list for years and they are desperate to get him to sign on the dotted line.

He had always declined offers before finally entering into talks this time around.

He and Jayne judged and coached on ITV’s Dancing On Ice from 2006 until the show was axed last year.

A source said: “Christopher is part of the ITV family thanks to his time on Dancing On Ice, but he’s always been adamant the jungle isn’t for him.

“When bosses came knocking this year, he saw it in a different light. He’s recently retired and is looking for a new challenge.

“I’m A Celebrity is certainly that, so he has met with producers a few times already to talk through being a campmate for this year’s standard Australian series.

“Everyone at ITV has their fingers crossed that they will secure him.”

The talks come a year after Christopher and Jayne also retired from performing.

The duo’s emotional last TV performance took place during the Dancing On Ice grand final in March 2025.

They then embarked on a 28-date farewell arena tour of the UK called Our Last Dance, which wrapped in their hometown of Nottingham last July.

Torvill and Dean are widely seen as two of the greatest ice dancers of all time.

They famously took home gold at the 1984 Winter Olympics with their iconic Bolero routine, and won bronze at the 1994 Games.

It’s going to be a culture shock when Chris is hit by the Aussie heat.
