Love Island is in chaos after Charleen Murphy’s shock dumping—and fans are NOT staying quiet

Outrage as Charleen Murphy is dumped from the Love Island villa

Oh, Kavan. Love Island viewers were left shouting at their TV screens on Tuesday as the Love Islanders recoupled and Ireland’s Charleen Murphy was sent packing.

Charleen only entered the villa a little over a week ago for Casa Amor, after much speculation, and has been exploring a connection with Kavan, who was all over her in Casa but cooled things once he was back and laying eyes on Jasmine again.

After flip-flopping on his decision this week, shutting things down with Charleen but then giving her reason to hope there might be more to their connection, he finally made a decision… and viewers weren’t happy about it as it meant she was sent packing from Mallorca in the recoupling.

At the start of the episode, Kav and Jasmine decided they were going to give their romance another shot, committing 100 per cent to one another, meaning that Kav had to have a tough conversation with Charleen.

He pulled her for a chat during the evening, telling Charleen that it felt like he’d ‘messed’ her around (and yeah, no sh*t Sherlock) but that he had to admit that his ‘head and heart’ were fully with Jasmine.

Kav said he was ‘very sorry’, with Charleen trying to reassure him it was okay, even if she was upset.’ You don’t have to say sorry if your feelings are how you feel,’ she said, getting a little teary.

Before they hugged it out and Charleen walked away, she added: ‘You didn’t mean to upset me but that happens sometimes. Thanks for being honest and telling me.’

Charleen then made a sharpish exit and walked inside the villa where the other girls supported her in the dressing room. With tears falling, it was all pretty intense, and Charleen said it was ‘all confusing’, especially as they had a good chat on the terrace earlier in the day.

Trying to make her feel better, fellow Casa bombshell Martha said: ‘The way he’s treated Jasmine over the past few weeks, you deserve much, much better. You need a fresh man in here.’

The boys were shocked when Kav told them he’d ended things with Charleen, but backed him, with Lorenzo saying it was probably a wise decision to focus on one girl 100 per cent rather than splitting his affections between two.

Kav and Jas later went to the hideaway, kissing in the pool and taking selfies, while the Casa girls chatted with Charleen, who told the cameras that she feels like she’s been ‘plopped in the trash bin and left there, left to rot.’

Charleen confronted Kav after the hideaway visit, asking why he went to the hideaway so quickly after calling things off with her, saying it hurt her feelings seeing him and Jas together.

He tried to argue that he’d already hurt her feelings, with Charleen jumping in to say ‘so you can keep on hurting them?’ And honestly, not a good point of argument, Kav.

Charleen said that she thinks Kav is ‘a dickhead for that [going to the hideaway], it’s literally not even been 12 hours’ with Kav then hitting back by saying: ‘I think you’ve got it in for me a bit, I’ve tried my best, it was nice in there, it was good.’

Our jaws were on the floor, this man telling Charleen he had a good time with Jasmine in the hideaway while Charleen is telling him she’s upset, but she did a much better job of staying calm and collected.

‘Oh, “I know you’re really upset, but we had a lovely time”,’ she said, calling Kav out before ending their chat.

By the time recoupling rolled around, Kavan was ready to declare his connection for Jasmine at the fire pit, saying in his speech: ‘Through every test I always feel myself gravitating back to this one person.

‘If we can get through all the tests in here, on the outside we really could face anything… I’m feeling a way I’ve not felt in a long time, if at all… My eyes are only for this one person.’

After all the boys had picked who they’d like to couple up with – and Jordon throwing a real curveball into the mix when he chose Martha (who knew they were chatting?!) – Charleen and Mara were left single.

That meant they were dumped from the villa, and damn, we wish Charleen had more time to find her match.

Love Island fans were quick to react to the result, with one saying ‘Charleen was robbed’, and another saying that ‘All Stars is calling.’

Several people said that Charleen ‘should have been an OG’ Islander, with one person saying that she ‘didn’t get a chance [and there was] nobody good enough/old enough for her.’

‘Fumbled one of the nicest girls to walk through the villa doors, get her back on our screens,’ wrote someone else.

‘She was done so dirty in there, justice for Charleen! She held herself with such grace and kindness! She should be so proud of herself,’ commented another Love Island fan.

Others called out Aidan for his comments to Charleen as they hugged goodbye. He told her: ‘You’re a good girl, Charleen; honestly I was rooting for you. You know that, don’t you?’

Some viewers said this was a bit ‘snakey’ as his advice to his brother hadn’t been the best and instead tended to stir the pot.
