Three teens accused of the murder of good Samaritan Aidan Becker have formally pleaded not guilty and will face a Supreme Court trial.
The boys, aged between 16 and 17, sat next to each other with their arms folded as they appeared in a children’s court via video link from a youth justice centre.
The trio, who can’t be identified due to their age, were each charged over the stabbing death of Mr Becker, an off duty security guard, 22, who died saving a 14-year-old schoolboy from a savage attack at Mernda train station on March 6.

Magistrate Julie O’Donnell read cautions to the accused killers on Wednesday.
“Do you plead guilty or not guilty,” Ms O’Donnell said.
“Not guilty,” all three teens said one after the other.
The matter is set to go to trial in the Supreme Court with a directions hearing on August 26.
A fourth teen charged over Mr Becker’s murder, 18-year-old Mike Pikos, is set to front Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later this month.
One of the boys appearing on Wednesday has separate less serious charges, which will return to a children’s court for a contest mention on September 1.
