SHOCKING: INVESTIGATORS HAVE REVEALED THE HAUNTING PATH ALLEGED CHILD ABUSER HAMISH TAIT TOOK THROUGH CHILDCARE CENTRES ACROSS SYDNEY.
Investigators reveal why accused child abuser Hamish Tait visited childcare centres across Sydney
Investigators have revealed why a man accused of abusing more than 136 children worked at or visited scores of childcare centres over 16 years.
The reasons why a childcare worker accused of sexually abusing more than 136 children worked at or visited scores of centres have been revealed by investigators.
Former childcare worker Hamish Tait on Monday lost a bid to have his name suppressed with a Sydney judge ruling in favour of the Australian Federal Police, prosecutors, and the media who had all opposed his bid for secrecy.
Mr Tait, 35, has been charged with producing child abuse material through his employment at childcare and early education centres across North West Sydney between 2009 and 2025.
He now faces a total of 329 charges after he was hit with more than 100 fresh charges last week, making him one of the country’s worst alleged child abusers.

Detectives have so far identified 136 alleged victims from 121 families across Sydney, with Australian Federal Police Acting Commander Luke Needham saying officers were still trying to identify a further potential 22.
Detectives stressed families whose children have been identified as alleged victims of Mr Tait have already been contacted by police.
A list of the centres Mr Tait worked at or visited, including five locations where the AFP allege the offending occurred, has been published online. It had earlier listed 62 centres.
Investigators have now released details of why Mr Tait attended the 59 centres.
He worked at or visited 14 centres for early education care, 13 for incursions, four for educator sessions, 26 in a training and assessment capacity, and one in a voluntary capacity, according to the AFP’s Operation Moonbie website.

One of the childcare centres listed, Goodstart Early Learning Centre, issued a statement assuring parents Mr Tait had never been employed at the centre and did not have contact with children there.
“Our thoughts are with families across Australia as they learned the news about the horrific allegations against Hamish Tait,” the statement said.
“We want to take a moment to assure our families that Goodstart has never employed Hamish Tait in any of our centres as a full-time, part-time, or casual employee. He has never run an excursion or incursion for a Goodstart centre, nor ever had any contact with Goodstart children.
“Goodstart’s now-closed Woodcroft was one of those centres – he attended the centre once in 2019 after hours to provide an information session to staff. No children were present.”
The AFP further allege Mr Tait shared child abuse material overseas on three occasions, but Mr Needham said there was no evidence to suggest he had uploaded anything to the dark web. Most of the alleged offending occurred in NSW; however, Mr Needham said there was some “limited offending” in another state.

“There are 22 victims who we are yet to positively identify and that’s why I would point the community to our website,” Mr Needham said.
“We would ask the community to consider what they might be able to share with the AFP which we hope goes some way in assisting us in identifying those other 22 (alleged) victims,” he said.
Some of Mr Tait’s alleged victims could now be adults due to how far back the alleged abuse spanned, Mr Needham said.
